About Ann Frerotte
Entering the world of therapy can be unsettling for many people. Will I be judged? Will I be heard? Will I be understood? It is my goal as a therapist to create a warm and welcoming space of acceptance and non-judgment. I will work with you to help you understand yourself better. I will meet you where you are to help you identify your unique strengths and how to utilize them to build the life you desire.
I am a registered nurse and a licensed clinical social worker. I attended the University of Pittsburgh for both my Bachelor of Science in Nursing and my Master of Social Work. My most recent clinical experience was working for Allegheny Health Network's Women's Behavioral Health program focusing on perinatal/postpartum care and reproductive health. I am specially trained in perinatal psychotherapy, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, perinatal grief and loss, midlife challenges for perimenopausal and menopausal women and life transitions at any age.
My background includes both individual and group counseling. I am culturally sensitive and LGBTQIA+ affirming. I have experience working with a clinically diverse group of clients using a wide variety of modalities including Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Behavioral Activation (BA) and mindfulness.
